First Line: “I sat up a little straighter on my stool, swiped back the loose curl that kept flitting down into my eyes I bent over, and swiveled my desk lamp to a different angle.” (Keep reading “The Muse and Her Mirror” by Paige Ferro)

Paige Ferro is a freshman this year studying Creative Writing, Literature, and Secondary Education. She had lived in Montana her entire life and is originally from Helena, MT. She enjoys reading, writing, yoga, running, and cooking but claims she has not mastered any of them yet. Her story “The Muse and Her Mirror,” was chosen for an Honorable Mention due to her fresh, robust narrative voice and character development, which gave her story a distinct texture. We honor Ms. Ferro’s work and encourage her to continue writing with the vibrancy and personality illustrated in “The Muse and Her Mirror.'”
