Tips for Submitting: All writers need good readers!

Posted on Updated on

Writing Center LogoAs creative writers, we all want to know how readers might react to our writing. We want to know if our dialogue works, if our characters are multi-dimensional, if the final line resonates with someone else as it does late at night with us. Workshops and close readers help us answer these questions and identify strategies for revision. One great campus resource staffed with these good readers is the Writing Center. Here, students can try out their writing on another potential audience.  In a one-to-one setting, Writing Center tutors provide free feedback on your works in progress.

It’s two-weeks to Oval submission d-day, check out the Writing Center, LA 144 or schedule online, and see what they can do for you.

Having good early readers for your work is SO important. I think you should always have someone else read your work before you send it out to the world!
